Custom Transfers are the heartbeat of First Edition. We print custom transfers so you can quickly and easily fill your custom orders. We will create new artwork or utilize yours (see art guidelines). First Edition will produce any part of the custom printing process that your company currently does not handle. We pride ourselves on providing attractive, sharp artwork for all our clients.
We ship all orders through UPS Monday-Friday. Oversized prints will ship separately from your other orders.
Versatile heat transfer with excellent coverage and ability to show detail. FILE TYPE:
Preferred formatted art files are .ai, .eps, .svg or vectorized pdf. Sending your artwork using one of these formats will save on art fees. If the art file is in another format or not print ready then we will provide you with a quote to finalize it for production. These fees are non-refundable and start at $15.
SIZE:
STANDARD MAXIMUM IMPRINT SIZE: 11.7″x11.7″
OVERSIZED MAXIMUM IMPRINT SIZE: 12″ x 14″ Please note: Oversized prints are available for ONE color transfers only AND are charged at 2-color pricing. These are ONLY offered for single oversized images. Ganged or grouped images aren’t acceptable. The oversized prints will ship separate from your other orders.
TEXT:
All text must be converted to outlines (Illustrator). Avoid using sans serif typefaces below 16pts., or 24pts. for serif typefaces.
LINES:
Use a minimum line weight of 2pts. When ordering glitter transfers, please use the largest line weight you can. Glitter transfers look best with thick lines/text.
COLORS:
Please use PANTONE SOLID COATED colors when creating art. White must be represented by Pantone 100C (yellow). Any art submitted with CMYK will incur art fees.
HALFTONES:
Use only halftones between 25%–40%. Using halftones in a large area of the design may cause a dot pattern to appear. Also, percentages above 40% will cause areas of the logos to fill in. Percentages below 25% will blow off the screen and not print in some areas.
PROOFS:
We will provide proofs at no extra cost with every order. Artwork must be checked and verified for accuracy as First Edition isn’t responsible for art once it is approved.
ART FEES:
Any art that isn’t print ready will incur art charges. Our minimum charge is $15. Our team of designers will work with your sketch, raw idea or your vector art to help get your artwork finalized for production. Orders will need to be submitted through the online portal and include any special instructions. Our experienced art staff will provide a timely art quote for you to authorize. Additional art charges will occur with changes and revisions.
The colors displayed on this chart are FE’s most frequently utilized colors. They print most consistently across the greatest number of garment types and colors. Also note that colors can vary when applied to light or dark garments because of garment dye migration.
